Mrs. Happe, our building GE (Gifted Education) teacher, will spend time in each of our second grade classrooms over the next three days. She is administering the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test). This is a district wide procedure for all second graders to screen for potential GE program identification and participation in grades 3-5. After all of the tests are administered (as well as make-up testing), Mrs. Happe will score the tests and results will come home to parents. If you have any questions about the test results, you can contact Mrs. Happe at [email protected]
Woodland Winter Conferences are quickly approaching! We will offer online scheduling again, and the link will be available Wednesday, January 21st. Conference (and Scholastic Book Fair dates) are Thursday, February 5th, Monday, February 9th, and Wednesday, February 11th.
You can access the link to schedule your conferences HERE. For our second grade conferences, the children are preparing to lead a majority of their conferences. PLEASE PLAN TO BRING YOUR CHILD TO OUR CONFERENCE! They will be looking forward to sharing their progress with you! Our second graders were visited by the Brooklyn Park Fire Department last week. We learned more about fire safety and making a plan for if a fire happens in our homes. We also watched an informational video that focused on how to quickly and safely exit a home or apartment if the smoke alarm goes off. The firefighters left a coloring/activity book for each student as well! We really enjoyed the visit!
